This policy explains how personal data is collected, used, and protected when using community.rechess.gg (the "Site"). Under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data ("KVKK"), the data controller is Hazar Seyfi Enes (individual).

1. Data Collected

The following data is processed when you create an account or use the Site:

  • Identity data: email address, username, profile picture
  • Content data: threads, comments, likes, and images you share on the forum
  • Connection data: IP address, browser information, session information
  • Game data: username mapping and rating information from the ReChess game (to be displayed on your profile page)

2. Purposes of Processing

  • Account creation and session management
  • Providing the forum service (displaying content, likes, comments)
  • Community safety (preventing abuse, moderating content)
  • Fulfilling legal obligations (including under Law No. 5651)
  • Improving the Site's technical infrastructure

3. International Data Transfer

The Site's technical infrastructure uses service providers located outside Turkey:

  • Supabase (USA): user identity, content, and storage data
  • Netlify (USA): site hosting and distribution

Using these service providers requires the transfer of your personal data outside Turkey. By using the Site, you accept this transfer.

4. Cookies

The Site uses essential cookies for session management. Without these cookies, basic functions like logging in will not work. The Site currently does not use marketing or third-party analytics cookies.

5. Data Retention Period

  • Account data: as long as the account is active
  • Content data: until removed by you or moderators
  • Connection/log data: at least 6 months, at most 2 years (as required by Law No. 5651)

6. Your Rights Under KVKK

Under Article 11 of KVKK, you have the following rights:

  • To learn whether your personal data is processed
  • To request information about the data processed
  • To learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used for its intended purpose
  • To know the parties to whom the data is transferred domestically and abroad
  • To request correction of data you believe is incomplete or incorrect
  • To request deletion or destruction of your data under the conditions provided by KVKK
